Tuesday Morning Sketches #388

Hello & very  happy Tuesday to you!  This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have another revisited sketch challenge.  This week I picked one of my own (not really like me) sketches for us to use.  I choose this based on participation and the timing of it - not really at all because it was my sketch - I promise - lol.

Our sponsor this week is A Day for Daisies.  We are thrilled to have them back as a sponsor this year.  The digital images are so sweet, with the look of hand penned drawings.  The prize is $12 shopping credit that is good for 3 images of the winners choice.

I printed the Flowers in a Bottle image on Close to My Heart Watercolor Paper (cut down to 8.5 x 11 of course) and it worked really well with alcohol markers in addition to regular watercolor paint.  I just loved coloring this ever so pretty image!  Just four cards today because the coloring took me a little while - but wow it's so therapeutic.  I bet you can tell exactly what ones were watercolors vs markers.  Such a great look either way even if I do say so myself.

I really hope you have a chance to check out what our team created and to create with us also!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #387

A little carried away - ya think???  I'm going to have some friends over to make cards and I was playing around with the idea of having stacks of card parts cut out for everyone to mix and match as they please, so I kind of got on a roll trying out my concept.  I'm absolutely in love with the "This card is a paper hug" stamp because I have a TON of hugs I need to be sending out.

The first card is Shimele True Stories from American Crafts paper and then the second and third cards are Hello Lovely by Close to My Heart.  Everything else is older stuff from my stash - you know my mantra this year!!  Use it up, and that's why I have to have friends over, I have too much for just me.  I think the washi/fabric tape versions were the most fun to make.

Oh yes to explain the last three, they are for my 3 grandsons. I have been a not so good of a grandma and haven't been writing my grandchildren so this year my goal is to send them a card once a month.  I also have two pseudo grandkids that I dearly miss.  So you see I need to get on the ball and send out cards.

I hope you have a chance to check out what the rest of the Design Team made - visiting our blogs really means a lot to us.  With that said THANK YOU for visiting mine today!!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #386

Hi you! Can you believe it??!  Seems like we just celebrated the new year and here we are already with January more than half over!  This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches our sponsor is Bugaboo Digital Stamps.  I used Dino Heart 1 and played with coloring him several colors.  Their stamps are super fun to color and being digital you can size them however you wish.

Here's the blog and the other team members I hope you have a chance to visit and create with us this week ~

Tuesday Morning Sketches #385

Hello and HAPPY Tuesday!!

Here's what I made for our challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week.  I have a little surprise for you down below.

For this first card I used the retired CTMH "Brushed" paper packet - one of my all time favorites.  My mantra this year is is "NO more hoarding - use it up!" (because then I can buy more - lol).  I also used some hoarded ribbon that was (I think) from my favorite vintage shop in AZ - Melrose Vintage, in Phoenix.  Oh how I miss stopping by there on my way back up to Prescott after a busy work day!  The little bird and flower is yet more hoarded stash (Martha Stewart).

TMS is sponsoring and the prize is 3 embossing folders!!  So you will want to be sure and head on over to play and check out what everyone made.

I received my latest Close to My Heart order and made a couple quick projects using the Sugar Rush Workshop on the Go Kit and the Some Kinda Wonderful stamp set.

Here's my surprise - the sketch as a 12 x 12 page!  I haven't scrapbooked in soooo long but one of my goals is to really get going on it again this year.

I figured I might as well post the other page I made to go along with it while I was at it, I pretty much always make two page layouts.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #384

Here we are 2017!!! MY OH MY!!  Wow I think it seems like 2016 went by fast but actually what all happened as I look back on it - I maybe could say it was long. There are some challenging things that I was hoping to see resolved for loved ones and they're still ongoing so I suppose in that respects it seems long.  It's regarding what I got accomplished that made it feel fast because I didn't accomplish nearly as much as I had hoped.  But, 2017 is another year right??

I spent some time having fun for New Year's Day and the 2nd, thanks to getting to have it off unexpectedly - what a NICE surprise!

This week our Design Team over at Tuesday Morning Sketches have really outdone themselves!!  I really hope you take the time to visit & play along and of course we all love you stopping by and commenting on our blogs!  We're revisiting our favorite 2016 sketches - it was a blast trying to choose a fav.

Sometimes I write a little about how I made stuff or what I used but I'm feeling a little lazy now - I spent too much time having fun, as you can see!  As always though if there's anything you would like to know - just ask :)  Oh, but I will tell you though that my favorite was the hippo card with the pink background but it was so light that I redrew the lines so I wasn't as happy with it after that. I finally broke out my MISTI for the next hippo card so that I could re-stamp it perfectly after I colored it. I LOVE my MISTI :)
