Tuesday Morning Sketches #362

I guess you could say I binged carded again :o) it was just so fun I had a hard time stopping.  If I didn't have to go to work I may still be going - LOL.  This sketch by Melissa was just so fun it is #362 over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Our sponsor this week is A Day for Daisies you will definitely want to head on over and play along!!

This one is for the Color My Heart Color Dare 203

I made this one using the challenge colors over at Cupcake Inspirations 368 and I used a throwback Close to My Heart color I'm adding it to the Heart to Heart Throwback Challenge:

Two notes about this one, first I used a piece of Outdoor Denim Fundamentals paper to make the card base and I love the fact that in doing so I had an instant decorated inside, all I needed to do is add a panel to write on. Second, if you have any history with Close to My Heart you may remember these fabulous markers I LOVED this color too.  I still have mine after I'm not even sure how many years and I still use them all the time.

The rest were just for fun, I colored first and then scrounged up other paper & ribbon to coordinate.  The watercolor pieces were just from a day that I was goofing off with water colors and saved them.

Remember Miss July 1997!?!

Well, if you don't remember her here she is!!  My goodness it was fun finding one of my first Close to My Heart stamps thanks to Throwback Week over at Heart to Heart!  I still have a few drawers (just little tiny drawers, LOL) of my favorite old wood stamps that I just can't ever let go of.  When I first started stamping I used to put the date on the blocks - this one is dated Feb. of 1997!!  That's right before I became a CTMH consultant, I can't believe it's been almost 20 years - WOW.  She inked up just as wonderfully now as when I first got her.

I created these cards for Tuesday Morning Sketches #361, Miss July is also for the Throwback Challenge at Heart to Heart and the pineapple card is for the Tropical Challenge at Cupcake Inspirations # 367

Oh what I would do for one of these cupcakes right now!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #360

Well I must say that I'm pretty happy with this card that I made for Tuesday Morning Sketches #360 primarily because when I took a look at this week's sketch this blast from the past stamp popped into my head and I have had it for YEARS. Yep, I'm pretty sure it's over 10 years old, it was a Close to My Heart wood mounted stamp.  What a great purchase huh???!!  Even though I haven't used it in who knows how long, I love it as much now as I did when I first bought it.  If you're familiar with CTMH maybe you can help me date it?  Do you have it too?

I sure hope you can head over and have a look at what the rest of our talented team created and play along with us over at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week!  It's a great sketch - so very fun, I hope I have time to make more this week.   We're sponsored by one of TMS' favorite sponsors - Sami Stamps.  Samantha, the owner creates her own lovely digital images - each have a personality of their very own.  You will surely find something you like in her Etsy shop. (Yes, I did just copy what our fearless leader Melissa, wrote about Sami Stamps but she just said it so darn good I couldn't think of anything else to say, lol)

Thanks so much for stopping by :o)

CTMH "Sunshine on a Cloudy Day"

I love the song and it was love at first sight when CTMH released this set in the latest Seasonal Inspirations!!  This set "Sunshine on a Cloudy Day" was an absolute must have and I have more card ideas  using it swimming around in my head that I can hardly wait to create and share.

This was such a fun and simple card it was easy to mass produce and perfect for a recent card exchange.  All I used was cardstock, ink, a few sequins and my CTMH watercolors. I stamped and painted white panels then added to a white card.

Unfortunately I have quite a few friends that have tough times lately and can really use this sentiment, fortunately it is a great reminder and encouragement to stand tall and face life head on.

I wish you sunshine on all your cloudy days!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #359 & Cupcake Inspirations #365

Happy day after Independence Day!!

I hope you play along with us over at Tuesday Morning Sketches # 359 it is a sketch by me.  I feel like a bit of a cave woman trying to create my sketches so they don't look the greatest but our amazing Design Team is so talented they "got it" and really provided a ton of inspiration.  I have a couple of tips below that may help you out.

We're sponsored by Jennifer Tomasic, a fellow CTMH consultant.  She'll be offering this fun stamp set to the randomly drawn winner.

I'm also entering this one in the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge # 365 - flowers

I was really hoping it wouldn't look like a bikini top - lol.

So I turned is sideways ;o)  But then I forgot and made my cards the first way - I'm just a dork sometimes!!

Ok and now for my tips....#1 remember that this is a great way to add a button to ruffle ribbon just right and not end up too bulky.  Just pull the ribbon through the loop behind your button before you tie it.

#2 tip is keep an eye out for free embellishments. . .this ribbon was wrapped around a pair of pajamas I think or maybe some sheets I can't remember, but it sure feels good when you actually use something that would have normally ended up in the trash.

I just tied the knot right in the word.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm looking forward to seeing what you create this week!
